Every political Party be it BJP, Congress or AAP, in their campaign has very aggressively claimed to be friends, caretakers and supporters of POOR in the Country. By now all of them including other regional parties have declared their manifestos also. BUT none has actually talked about MINIMUM POVERTY THRESHOLD OF Rs. 27-31/day/person. *** All prices in India, be it bread, daals, vegetables, cooking gas, petrol, housing, property, are very much in line with international prices, but INCOME OF POOR AND OFFICIAL POVERTY THRESHOLD. WHY NOT ? --- UNO s guideline for poverty cut of line is US$1.75/day/person. Even that amounts to appx. Rs105/day/person. Even Somalia follows UNOs guideline, but not India. INDIAs threshold should be even higher, atleast double. WHY INDIAS THINKING FALLS SO LOW WHEN IT COMES TO POOR, on everything else India likes to think BIG. 2) Other very important issue is safety and security of female child and Women. None of the manifestos have actually laid out any PREVENTIVE PLAN. The need is for prevention along with stricter laws. Mindset of People might not be possible to change but Technology can help in a big way in forcing that change. Required Technology already exists, but GENUINE INTENTION AND HONEST EFFORT IS MISSING.
