Every year we try to remember Maguindanao massacre through events - TopicsExpress

Every year we try to remember Maguindanao massacre through events and speeches like this. To remind the public of the horror that happened. That we are still here fighting for justice. As we look back after five long years, we have to ask, will justice ever be served? On that day of November 23, 2009, 58 innocent lives, 32 of them media workers, including my father, photojournalist Reynaldo Bebot Momay, were brutally murdered without conscience. It was a bloodfeast, a demonic act far beyond imagination. Such a horrendous crime, acknowledged as the worst incident of electoral violence in recent Philippine history and the deadliest attack on press ever and yet, five long years after, none of the 197 accused, including main suspects Andal Sr and Andal Jr, who are believed to have led the gunmen who committed the slaughter, and Zaldy, at that time, the governor of Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao, has yet been convicted. To this day, 89 of the accused remain at large. The evidences were obvious. The blood, the flesh, the broken bones can almost speak for themselves. Yet it seems none of those charged has ever been given the punishment they deserve. https://youtube/watch?v=0KqgIzst0f4
