Ex-AFP official to Cudia: Just resign ABS-CBNnews | Updated as of 03/20/2014 5:26 PM MANILA - Just resign. This is the advice of former Armed Forces inspector general Brig. Gen. Jesus Dizon to Philippine Military Academy cadet Aldrin Jeff Cudia after the latter continued to fight his dismissal. In a statement, Dizon said he is disturbed and hurt by tirades against the PMA after the PMA honor committee recommended Cudias dismissal for lying - a violation of the PMA Honor Code. Dizon said it is unfortunate that Cudia was disallowed from graduating but said every cadet is given an extensive orientation of the PMA honor system upon entry to the academy. He said violation of the Honor Code has only two consequences: dismissal or resignation from the Academy. He is sworn to abide by its tenets with all his mind, body and spirit. It is understood that he agrees to the conditions including all rules and regulations of the PMA; otherwise he should resign, he said. Dizon said the adverse reaction to the PMAs decision is understandable but could end up destroying the institution. They threaten to use legal means to get a reversal of the decision. Mr. Cudia could probably win his case in a court of justice, but what does he gain? He will most likely be ostracized by the entire PMA Alumni including his peers and superiors on active military duty. Even a man of steel could not last in this environment of rejection, he said. One alternate path that Cudia could take is apply for commission in the Reserve Force. If accepted, he could request that he be called to active duty, said Dizon. He said Cudia can be assigned to combat duty and could then show his worth. Cudia was dismissed for allegedly lying about the reason he came late for a class. He, however, said he never lied and that the voting of the Honor Committee that led to his dismissal was rigged. The dismissed cadet was not able to graduate with his fellow cadets on Sunday, but his case is not yet closed after President Benigno Aquino III ordered Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Bautista to review his appeal once more. The embattled cadet, who was supposed to graduate third in the Siklab Diwa Class of 2014, has also brought his case to the Supreme Court.
