Excellent article: Though I wish it came down to who is right on the issues, here’s the truth: In the end, politics is just a marketing game. It actually comes down to identifying the voters you need to target, deciding how to present yourself so that they will like you, and then implementing that plan while making adjustments along the way. The Democratic Party has purposefully and pointedly targeted a broad but specific group of people and catered to their values; like it or not, it has worked for them.
