Extension schedules Emerald Ash Borer Meetings for Community Associations and Small Communities Emerald Ash Borer has not yet been found in Bartholomew County, but it is present in 3 adjacent counties. The pest is expected to kill all unprotected ash trees. While information on damage control has been available for many years through Purdue University and Indiana DNR sources, action by individuals and communities will soon be warranted. Purdue Extension Bartholomew County’s Agriculture & Natural Resources Educator, Kris Medic, has scheduled an information session for Thursday, offering best practices for homeowner or neighborhood associations and small communities. The meeting will take place at 6 pm in the Conference Room at the Bartholomew County Public Library. Staff or representatives of homeowner, neighborhood, or community associations, as well as officials from townships and municipalities, are invited. As space is limited, participants are asked to call Purdue Extension Bartholomew County at 812-379-1665 to register by 4 pm on Thursday. Interested associations unable to send a representative are welcome to contact Purdue Extension to schedule an alternate date.
