Extract from the speech of Prince Ademola Adefolabo to Igbojuwo Royal Family (Male Line) of Oba Adefolabo Royal Family of Oba Ojuromi Ruling House on December 25, 2014: NEW YEAR On behalf of Igbojuwo Royal Family, we the descendant of Oba Onayelu express our joy; and we use this opportunity to congratulate every sons and daughters of Ijebu Igbo at home and diaspora as we enter the New Year with joy and happiness. The New Year 2015 will give you fortunes, wealth and prosperities. And to those who are keeping the flag flying at the Federal, State, Local Government and Wards Level, we wish you Happy New Year in advance. 2015 ELECTION Vote and be voted for in your political association but we need to remember that we are sons and daughters of Ijebu Igbo first and foremost hence let the 2015 Election be a thing of joy in Ijebu Igbo. ORIMOLUSI CHIEFTIANCY While it will do us a lot of good as the trio that dragged themselves to the Court of Law to seek its interpretation as to the Orimolusi Chieftiancy Declaration in the near future, we the Igbojuwo Royal Family on behalf of the entire Oba Orimolusi Family apologize for the delay, inconvenience, mishap and pain cause by the delay in the installation of the new Orimolusi. With no prejudice to the ruling of the Supreme Court, we wish to inform sons and daughters of Ijebu Igbo that the Chosen Crown Prince has always been there from the start from the Direct Male Line of Oba Orimolusi in the person of PRINCE ALFRED ADEBOSUPO AYAN-ADEFOLABO unlike the rumour spread that he has travelled out of the country. Court injunctions restraining the Oba Orimolusi Royal Family from acting once the attempt to sideline the Direct Male Line was exposed has been a delaying factor in resolving the issue to nominate and select a suitable candidate in line with the “Orimolusi Chieftaincy Declaration” and the “Chiefs and Obas Law of Ogun State.” As the trio that went to Court keep hoping and making desperate effort to establish through court and install themself behind the Male Line; all of them being Female Line to Igbojuwo Royal House, we hope they will change their perspective as to their thinking now that their scheme has been exposed. Joining them in Court will prolong the issue, but the outcome of the Court interpretation can be of huge benefit and help in the near future as already shown in and hereby quoted from the Appeal Court jugdment of June 14, 2012 in CA/I/268/99 SADIKU and KASSIM, 2012 Page 22 Line 5 to Page 28 Line 19 that if the Male Line exist and they have a suitable candidate, the Female Line cannot be considered as penned in the Orimolusi Chieftaincy Declaration. And finally with a warning stated in the quoted judgment on Page 28, Line 19 that in the absence of any evidence that there is no suitable candidate of the Male Line before appointing from the Female Line (inlaw), the exercise is null and void. We will adhere to the Court interpretation when the Final Ruling from the Supreme Court is given as to the nomination and selection of the new Orimolusi from the Male Line first provided there is no suitable candidate, BUT we have a suitable candidate from the onset if not for the lies and deceit to conceal him from the government and from the sons and daughters of Ijebu Igbo by some greedy inlaw (Female Line) who aspired to take the throne behind his Line as they had been doing in the past. The Male Lines are not in extinct as our In-laws claimed in CA/I/69/99 ADESEMOWO and KASSIM, 2012 on Page 23 Line 8 and hereby quoted that “the difference lies in the fact that in the case of the plaintiff (ADESEMOWO) his grandfather became an Oba when there was failure of the male line” but we still have Lines that are solely Males with no Female break in them within the Royal Family. Though the appellant to the Supreme Court cannot be entirely blame for the delay but those who are edging him on in his pursuit as they are benefitting from the interregnum in controlling the town and its resources. To him, we asked that he re-consider his step and the future of the town and our people in respect of what the final outcome may be to his name and his family name. CONCLUSION As we are preparing to enter the New Year, the Orimolusi Royal Family enjoin you to be safety conscious in all our activities. A Royal Seasons Greeting from us.
