FAN QUESTION For starters I am 28 weeks pregnant with a boy which is our first. Weeks ago he has been diagnosed with a two vessel umbilical cord, a cleft lip and a small case of VSD (which is something the doc told us not to worry about because it is very small). Now since we have been transferred to a specialist we are in better care, yet my bubble of hope been busted bad today. At my last appt I have been tested for down syndrome, and trisomy syndroms (which came out negative!), today we were seen by a different doc which told us that his low weight for 28 weeks (1.4 pounds) is highly associated with another genetic disorder, other than what we have been tested for! He also said that he could just be a small baby, nevertheless I do not know what to expect. Most likely I will be induced if his weight is still low when I am further along, I also have to go back for weekly monitoring. We got to see a climpse of the cleft lip on a 3D and most likely it is associated with the cleft palette. I know that this is common but how did you deal with it and what was the procedure after birth? I am terrified knowing what it looks like and I do not know if I can handle it. It is just alot right now especially this being our first ( AND LAST!). anything about this is highly appreciated ******* pregnancycorner
