FIVE PLAYERS WEST HAM SHOULD SIGHN THIS SUMMER It is another big summer for West Ham with boss Sam Allardyce’s future unclear and an ageing squad that needs addressing. Here are the five players we think the Hammers should be looking at this summer, including stars from Leeds, Sunderland and Charlton. JORDAN RHODES The Blackburn hitman has to be a Premier League player soon as his stock is rising by the season. Another 25 goals in this campaign for an indifferent Rovers side follows 29 last year and 40 the season before – in fact Rhodes has not scored fewer than 20 goals in a season since he was 18 years old on loan at Brentford. Now 24, the Scotland international is yet to sign a new deal at Ewood Park meaning that Rovers may have to accept a bid of less than their £10million asking price. A striker who has every attribute to make it in the Premier League and one that Hammers fans would love to see at Upton Park. ADAM JOHNSON of Sunderland. The Sunderland winger missed out on the England World Cup squad after an impressive season in the north-east and could be looking for a new challenge. That looks certain to be the case if boss Gus Poyet leaves, a man who has been linked with the managerial post at Upton Park. His natural width and pace is obviously something West Ham are crying out for and after notching ten goals last season, he finished three clear of the Hammers’ top scorer Kevin Nolan. Ipswich Town left back AARON CRESWELL Cresswell is one of the hottest prospects in the Championship and one that has been on a number of clubs’ radar including Tottenham and Aston Villa. The left back has been a constant provider of chances and assists for Ipswich Town in his time at Portman Road as well as offering the adequate defensive cover. West Ham have used five different players at left back this season due to injury or form and current first choice George McCartney could see his contract run out next month. One for the future and one that would suit West Ham’s play. Leeds Uniteds ROSS MCCORMACK McCormack topped the Championship goalscoring charts last season despite playing for a side in the bottom half of the table. West Ham had a bid rejected for the Scotland international back in January but with more uncertainty over the club and managers future – the striker could push through a move. At 27, McCormack may find it tough to turn down a Premier League move despite being loyal to Leeds and their fans. DIEGO POYET Charlton fans have voted Diego Poyet The Chalton youngster has come to the fore this season and quickly become the first name on the team sheet at The Valley. The 19 year old has been in imperious form at the heart of the Addicks midfield and significantly is out of contract next month. Son of Sunderland boss Gus, the Spanish born playmaker may opt to stay in London but with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham hovering,
