FOCUS GROUP SUBCOM MEETS SUPPORT GROUPS. The Focus group subcommittee of the PDP Campaign Council, held its meet-the-support groups meeting Yesterday at West Gate Hotel Asaba, to formally interract with different PDP support groups fronting for the party and Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa Governorship project. At the meeting which was well attended by close to 70 different political movements within the state, the Co-ordinators of the supports groups were given opportunity to address the Focus Group Subcom on the Strenght and spread of their groups. Among those who address the Subcommittee were Solomon Okowa of Okowability one 2 twenty. Hon A. M. Mene of Delta Coalition 4 Ifeanyi Okowa, Ifeanyi Ottah ICC of Ika Progressive Aliance etc. The support groups Co-ordinators introductions were followed by the speech of chief Tony Okowa, the Co-ordinator of the FOCUS GROUP who was standing in for the subcommittee chairman. In his address, Mr Tony thanked the various groups for responding to the invitation of the meeting and for their efforts and resolved to work to ensure the victory of Senator Okowa and indeed all the PDP candidates in forhcoming February 2015 polls. He advised the various groups co-ordinators to ensure that their members have their PVCs, adding that without the possession of the Permanent Voters Card (PVC), all their efforts will be useless because as he put it, it is the voters card that will ensure that all the efforts we are making in this election come to reality. The voters card is the power we have to elect our principal, Senator Ijeanyi Okowa as governor and other PDP candidates into office, without voters cards we are simply useless. He further advise the co-ordinators to go out there to urge every elligeable voters in the state to go and collect their permanent voters cards (PVC) if they have not done so. He also told them that as political pressure groups they should not be partisan in their approach to canvassing for votes, that they should not limit their vote canvassing to only PDP members or sympathisers but rather spread their tentacles to all Deltans and to the opposition camps. He further stated that the committee will visit the various support groups to verify all their claims. On this note, he decleared the floor open for all presents to speak on their strategies of reaching out to the electorates. At this juncture, Mr Solomon Okowa of The OKOWABILITY ONE 2 TWENTY, explained their strategies of getting to more and more authentic voters. Comrade Frank Iroroh also spoke on the methods being adopted by DELTA COALITION 4 IFEANYI OKOWA to reach the electorates, other support groups took their turns to explain the methods they adopted , the purpose of this according to Chief Tony was to promote cross fertilisations of campaign strategies being used by different support groups so that groups can take a cue from others. In his final remark, Chief Tony further advised the groups to get prepared for the mother-of-all rally which will take place at Warri Stadium on February 1st tentatively, the date for a scheduled novelty Football match involving ex Super Eagles all time superstars.
