FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Assurance Read Psalms 69:1 through 73:28 Psalm - TopicsExpress

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Assurance Read Psalms 69:1 through 73:28 Psalm 71 does not have a title. The Bible offers no official name for its human author. Its twenty-four verses include a variety of prayerful surrenders and confessions. The prayer’s theme of assurance and hope follows a systematic Hebrew pattern of design—the stanzas and lines stay true to the planned structure. Readers in today’s world can relate to the Psalmist’s questions and also to the hope. Sentences include declarations of comfort related to the past and the future. Threats of the enemy forces aren’t denied, but God’s promise rules above any painful circumstances. You will increase my honor and comfort me once more (Psalm 71:21). In seasons of doubt, assurance is a key to living with peace. With so much dependence on financial security, vocational success, and relational pleasure, many people fail to find such peace. The source of true assurance can come only from God. Like the psalm written with design, God can restructure life by His creative talent. Challenge for Today: Refuse to place assurance in personal feelings or circumstances. Put your assurance in the God who provides.
