The arrival time is at 6:30pm tomorrow, September 30, 2014, and we go live with that debate from 7:00 pm - 7:55 pm. Jo Anne Paul-Stanton is the host. Standard Debate Procedures at HOMTV: There is no live studio audience but there is an opportunity for people to call in with questions at 517-349-1232. They can watch the program on Comcast channel 21 and 30 in Haslett, Okemos, and East Lansing. They can watch the program on AT&T U-verse on channel 99 in the Lansing region. They can also watch the live stream on homtv.net The show will start with an opening :30 second statement from each of the candidates alphabetically according to last name. After the opening statements, the phone lines will be open for callers and the twitter feed @HOMTV #BallotMeridian is available for comments and questions as well. Each call is screened and callers are told that they cannot direct questions towards one candidate. They must ask the question in such a way that it can be addressed by all the candidates. If there is vulgarity or offensive language, we will hang up the call. If they do not follow directions upon being addressed by the host to ask a question, the host will re-phrase the question so that it is not pointed to one candidate. If there are no callers, we will ask our standard list of prepared questions while waiting for calls to come in. Those questions are not available in advance. Each candidate is allowed a maximum of two minutes to answer each question and they have an opportunity for an up to one minute rebuttal. We rotate the candidates opportunity to answer the questions. The opening statements begin the alphabetical order and rotates through the questions and closing statement. The opening statement begins with the first person alphabetically and the first question begins with the second person alphabetically and so on.
