FOR THOSE WHO FAILED NET THIS TIME: Good evening to all. This post was written to motivate students who have failed in NET on adichemistry group bu me. As many of my friends on fb are NET aspirants, I thought to share it with you all. Its too long and boring. The post is: The NET result is just declared. Thanks to CSIR that this time they have declared result quite early giving a room for study to those who could not do it this time. I noticed very unusual thing this time. There were very few phone calls and also posts on facebook of successful students which is indication that result was too tough this time and obviously it was expected from my side. I have noticed that CSIR NET is becoming more and more difficult day by day and it becoming difficult to predict anything about NET. I remember the time when I use to give students a set of probable questions a week before CSIR NET. Most of probable questions that I use to provide to students use to be asked in the exam. But as time has passed, it has become difficult to guess anything about exam. On Adichemistry forum, while I was discussing about difficulty level of questions asked in CSIR-NET held in June, most of members unanimously agreed me when I said that most of chemistry experts could not solve some of the questions asked in June NET exam. To be very frank, when I saw June NET paper, I had an idea that result is going to be tough and many of NET aspirants may miss this exam by very marginal marks and I hope you will all agree with me as most of you have missed this exam by marginal marks. I have my own method of grading students who are studying for CSIR NET. I believe that any body who scores above 60 is very brilliant student and if somebody scores above 70, he is very outstanding. The student who scores above 80 marks is given alert from my side that yes, it’s a time for him to clear NET, in the next attempt. I personally feel that success of student is NET cant be judged from the fact that whether he has cleared or failed in NET. That cant be a parameter. Because many of my students who failed NET were more brilliant than me in spite of the fact that I cleared NET for so many times. When I remember students who were more brilliant than me and were unable to crack NET, I use to remember Einstein. You know why? Albert Einstein did not speak until he was four years old and didnt read until he was seven. His teacher described him as mentally slow, unsociable and adrift forever in his foolish dreams. He was expelled and refused admittance to Zurich Polytechnic School. The University of Bern turned down his Ph.D. dissertation as being irrelevant and fanciful. But in spite of all this, he emerged as one of the most brilliant brains on the earth. But let me tell u that I remember myself when I see students who have missed NET by marginal marks as I remember my old days. I have to fail three times in NET before my success. The worst time of my life use to begin when I use to hear that I have failed in NET. I use to curse myself and use to get depressed. The phenomena which use to start from myself use to continue as my parents, friends and teachers use to have same opinion. I use to feel very sad because all the hard work which I did use to go in vein and let me tell u about my hard work, I use to study 16 hours a day. My preparation days were filled with only study nothing else. Once I use to get a fail result, it use to be very difficult to plan for further study because there use to be so many problems, the first of which was financial assistance form my parents. Because its gamble you are playing with your precious life. You spend 6 months of your life in studying so hard and finally end with just disappointment. I still remember my first failure in NET. I was shocked to see my negative result. In spite of that I was determined since I thought that may be I haven’t put up my best and thus I might have failed. So, I was not worried for my first failure so I requested my parents me to offer me financial assistance for next month and promised them success next time. When they agreed, I started studying and this time I started preparation in different style. I tried to find out 10 reasons which made me fail in NET. Some of such reasons were lack of proper selection, reading books which were in appropriate. I decided not make such mistakes again and did a very hard study for next six months with huge efforts. I appeared for next NET as I was damn sure about result. Finally, the result was declared and I was shattered to see one more failure in NET. It was one of saddest day of my life. I started thinking that may be I can never clear NET. I decided to give up preparation and seek some job in chemical industries. Inner mind was opposing this decision but then I thought I have put up everything to clear NET and still I could not get success means that I am not capable of clearing NET. But God has a different plan towards me. I met a friend of mine who has lot of spiritual knowledge next day. When I told him that I am quitting NET studies, he said not to do that giving me a good example. He said that there is a negative energy around human beings. If some good thing is going to happen, this energy captures you and compels you to take wrong decision. He said me that you are almost going to pass NET in coming NET, so negative energy has captured you and it is forcing you to take wrong decision. He said me not to be victim of the negative energy. I agreed with him because I had a confidence in myself that I can clear NET if I study for NET. I decided to fight back. But this time, it was slightly more difficult. Everybody (family members) started shouting me for searching job. Friends started criticizing me. But I never wanted to quit NET because I had studied almost a year for that. I decided to start my studies but it was difficult to convince my father this time. When I requested him too much, he agreed for financial support. As you know, its embracing asking them money after your masters. But I was helpless. I worked very hard this time. One good thing I did was I read different books this time. Finally, in next NET, I could get JRF. I was so fortunate that Bharat Ratna CNR Rao invited me for research when I cleared JRF because that time there were very few students who have cleared NET as awareness towards such exams and also towards research. It was my story which started with failure and finally ended with success. I just thought to share it with you because thereafter I cleared CSIR NET 10 times consecutively with aim of putting my name in Guinness book of world records. May be many of you are going through the same phase which I went few years ago. Its my appeal to you all not to quit your studies. I know its very hard time for many of you. If you have appeared for NET many times and still failed, I call you as winners because I have learnt that winners never quit. I have always appreciated students who are studying for NET in spite of repeated failures than those who have cleared NET. As I was taught that self recognition is first step towards success and thus when I think of all those students who failed in spite of hard work and are still preparing for NET, I thought that they are the people who have recognized themselves since they believe that one day they are going to do it. I obviously call them BRAVEHEART. I am sure many of these are going to be great people in future and thus may be in future, in spite of quoting about Einstein, it may be there story to quote. So guys, don’t get disappointed by failure. Your are about to crack NET next time so don’t quit, don’t get depressed, don’t get frustrated. Start your preparation again. Fight back. Make a plan B this time. Put more efforts than what you have applied earlier. Be positive. Motivate yourself. I know you are going to clear in Dec. And last thing I want to tell you is that if you are have worst time going on, it means that best time is ahead. Best luck.
