FOREIGNERS WEARY TO VISIT INDIA IS IT NOT SHAMEFUL FOR OUR COUNTRY WITH SUCH RICH CULTURE AND TRADITIONS (personal experience narrated by my friend Gaishrie Sharon Singh, Founder and Director Institute of Metro physical Science, South Africa and a leading business women) “ I was waiting to enter the fair at the gates and a very elderly man(old enough to be my dad) started to touch my body in appropriately from the back....I felt disgusted. When I am in India, I always dress in salwar kameez, saree or pants and long kurtee so its not that i was dressed in western clothing. I was there on business and was alone... felt very unsafe. The man from India came to Durban to run a marathon....after he completed the race he was arrested and is presently in holding cells. His family from India are arranging a lawyer for him. He initially denied the attack on the young lady of 25 but has now confessed but claims that he was asleep and thought that she was his wife. I have travelled to India many times since 1993....in fact I felt safer in India that I did in my country but my last trip left me very fearful and the stories of the rapes and indecent assaults have certainly made me even more weary”.
