FRAUD at TOTAL’s ATM at Darras Centre in Kensington Jan Whitehead, a pensioner who has been living in Kensington for more than thirty years was waiting for his turn at the ATM at the TOTAL’s Petrol Station at Darras Centre in Kensington on Friday, 7 June 2013 at about 6.30pm. The man in front of him walked away and Jan inserted his Standard Bank VISA card into the slot. The screen was blank. Jan pressed the cancel key but the card would not come out. He tried a few times… with no result. A well dressed man walked in and said that he could help and went on to punch a couple of keys on the key panel. He then left saying that unfortunately he wasn’t able to do anything. Shortly afterwards Jan received an sms on his cell stating that funds had been withdrawn from his VISA account. The well dressed man was nowhere in sight. Jan immediately realized that the fraudster has removed Jan’s savings. Jan spoke to the people at the TOTAL petrol station who did not help in anyway. Jan then walked to Pick ‘n Pay at Darras Centre where Management was very helpful and allowed Jan to use Pick ‘n Pay’s phone for Jan to do all the relevant calls s.a. police, VISA card, other… You are welcome to create your own Forum(s) and/ or Topic(s).
