FROM KTC-District 2 Christian County Traffic ADVISORY A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close westbound ramps at the Interstate 24 Exit 89 Interchange with KY 115 for Oak Grove and Pembroke starting Monday, April 7, 2014. Both the westbound exit and entrance ramps at this interchange will be closed starting April 7th to allow major reconstruction, including cement base reinforcement. Work on the westbound ramps is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete. During this time both westbound ramps will be closed to all traffic. Once work is completed on the westbound ramps, the contractor will announce a start date for closure of the eastbound entry and exit ramps at this same interchange. This ramp reconstruction work at I-24 Exit 89 is a continuation of the rehabilitation work along I-24 that started last summer. We are providing advance notice of this planned closure to allow the public and businesses at the I-24 Exit 89 Oak Grove-Pembroke Interchange to be prepared for this project. Motorists who regularly travel ramps through this interchange should be aware of these planned ramp closures and make advance alternate travel plans. Approximately 9,000 vehicles travel KY 115/Pembroke-Oak Grove Road through this interchange in an average day. This interchange at KY 115 mile point 2.877 is commonly used as a shortcut to and from Ft. Campbell.
