FROM THE KPD: The Kokomo Police Department has received information that scammers are calling individuals in the Kokomo area and falsely representing the Financial Builders Federal Credit Union. If you receive an automated call that your Financial Builders card has been deactivated, simply hang up. DO NOT ENTER CARD INFORMATION. If you have already entered your card information please contact the credit union to block your card. This is a scam and Financial Builders Federal Credit Union has no affiliation with these telephone calls. Please do not give any personal or financial information to anyone on the telephone in regards to these telephone calls, and be very cautious whenever you are contacted and your personal and financial information is requested. The prosecution of these individuals is difficult, so crime prevention is a good alternative to reduce fraud and scam victimization. If you are the victim of a scam, please notify the Office of the Indiana Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division and your nearest law enforcement agency.
