FROM THE NEWSROOM: Connecticut State Police stepped up patrols during this Thanksgiving holiday week and will continue to target drunk and aggressive drivers this weekend. New results from State Police this morning have confirmed that since 12:01 Tuesday morning there have been 24 DUI arrests, 686 instances of speeding, 194 seatbelt violations, and 1,882 other moving violations, which can include texting, failing to signal, following too closely or making unsafe lane changes. So far there have been 600 reported accidents: 78 with injuries and one fatal in Norwalk. Authorities say sobriety checkpoints and targeted DUI patrols will be in place for the entire holiday weekend through Sunday evening.
