Strong America Now - a detailed plan to eliminate the deficit by 2017 without raising taxes. Downsizing Government - a department-by-department guide to downsizing and/or eliminating whole parts of the federal government. The GAO Report - a report released by the Government Accountability Office that would cut $100-$200 billion straightaway (heres more on duplication and redundancy from Sen. Coburn). Pork Report - a report that Sen. Coburn puts out about wasteful spending that you can browse by date. Without a well defined plan, how can the American people trust Congress to make the right decisions to curb the overspending, eliminate the deficit, and begin to pay down our massive debt of $14.4 trillion and counting? Last night the President of the United States displayed once again that he refuses to put forth an actual plan, written down, in detail, to keep our country from barreling off of a cliff. The Speaker of the House of Representatives proposed a debt ceiling plan that calls for just over $1 Trillion in deficit reduction over the next 10 years in exchange for an immediate increase in the debt ceiling. In other words, he is willing to cave and give the President a debt ceiling increase in exchange for a promise of cuts over the course of 10 years that are not defined, that WILL NOT eliminate the deficit, that WILL increase our national debt, and will still risk a downgrade of our credit rating. Weve heard it all before: more current spending in exchange for future promises. The American People are tired of broken promises. Today on Capitol Hill many supporters of the President in, response to his call to action last night, are pummeling congressional offices with phone calls to let them know to continue with the unsustainable status quo, to raise taxes, and keep feeding the beast. We MUST respond to this and show Congress how the majority of Americans feel. The mask is off, the curtain drawn back - we have a FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP, in both parties. The President has abdicated his role completely in leading this country and he is focused solely on his reelection campaign. The Democrats in Congress are playing political games, desperately trying to maintain the bloated and unsustainable size of government, while trying to help the President get reelected. Republican Leadership is avoiding responsibility, trying to convince the American people with their rhetoric that THIS time we can trust them, while their actions lead us down the same path that the Democrats would like to take us. This really is a tipping point. Its time for the politicians in Washington to decide whose team they are on. If the Republicans only care about what is best for the Republican Party and the Democrats only care about what is best for the Democrat Party, then who is looking out for what is best for the American people? The stakes are high. We must remain resilient because if we dont stop this spending path of destruction, where will we turn - - if in America - - liberty cannot survive? And people come when they are ready. If they come before they are ready then they find out. I can’t say that they find out quick, ‘cause sometimes it takes years. Some guys see it fast, and some guys need a little more convincing. Time will tell. It always does. And then it keeps on telling. When you get attached to a group of guys with all their different personalities you never know what to expect. The club is like a roller coaster. It’s full of ups and downs. And the people that last are the ones that can handle the ride. It’s tough when your Brothers believe in a guy and you don’t. That’s what prospecting in a club is about. Making the members believe in you. Showing them that you believe in the club, the cause, and yourself. The prospect time is YOUR time. The time you get to show the membership what this means to you and what you are made of. How far you are willing to go to be a part of something bigger and greater than yourself. You have devoted your life to an ideal, a way of thinking, and being, for the greater good, the club. The club is like a machine. Each member is like a cog spinning in a machine. Some spin faster than others, some spin slower, some are completely spun out. It takes all kinds of personalities to make a club that will survive. I realize you need all kinds: Officer, Soldiers, Cooks. The guys who make it have been living this way their whole life, even before they came around. They have been living by a code, holding themselves up to a standard that they have to live by. A standard of honor and respect. Basically being a MAN. Then they make their way to us and they realize this is where they belong. It is not the patch that makes the man, it’s the man that makes the patch. If you have what it takes, if you can learn the lessons given, the FIRST time, if you fit in like a puzzle piece that we didn’t know was missing till you came around, then this might work. If you can follow the structure of monthly meetings, on a schedule, then being in the club might be for you. We aren’t looking for the toughest or the smartest. There will always be someone tougher or smarter, you gotta fit in. It’s a family. We always know when a man is home. He does everything with a smile on his face. Everything is easy. He is chasing his dreams. And anybody knows the worst day chasing your dreams, is better than the best day doing anything else.
