***Facilitators for Public Radio Forum Needed*** The Penn Project for Civic Engagement is organizing a discussion forum with public radio stations in Pennsylvania called “Keystone Crossroads.” All four public radio stations in Pennsylvania — WHYY, WPSU, WESA and WITF — are collaborating on a project focusing on the question: What can Pennsylvanias cities, large and small, do to address their problems and fulfill their promise? As part of that project, community forums will held in cities served by those stations in an effort to identify important issues and to talk about how public radio might better serve those communities. The project is looking for facilitators to lead small group discussions in Altoona on Tuesday, October 7th. Facilitators would need to arrive by 5:00 p.m. for orientation, followed by the forum itself. They would receive written instructions in advance, and they would be asked to write a brief report following the forum, following guidelines provided by the organizers. Facilitators will be compensated $250 for the evening’s work. The Center for Democratic Deliberation will help organize transportation to and from Altoona. Graduate students and instructors in CAS or English, particularly those who have taught courses like Rhetoric and Civic Life or CAS 100B, would be well-qualified to participate in this project. If you are interested, please contact the CDD graduate RA, Jeff Kurr, via email, [email protected].
