Family! There is a crisis going in certain sections of the great Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, called Laventille, Beetham and Sea Lots that has been generating lot of tensions worldwide. The country having just celebrated its 51st Anniversary of Independence, the turmoil has now again started with the recent shooting death of a youth by the police, for whom they say, was intentional and remember now! These areas are not police friendly and we don’t know what the real stories are. RCOTT Family! These areas were coerced by the PNM years ago in exchange for votes, because they were threatened by eviction if they don’t. Remember! Most of the residents are squatting on lands that are considered HIGH PRICED REAL ESTATE and the business men/women, government and large corporations are calling on the authorities to make decisions that they might have got wind too. We have heard that the PNM wanted to move residents of those areas so that big business (The Invaders Bay Project) can take form, but was put on hold because of the snap elections, which the PNM lost. Yuh talk about divine intervention? If the PNM was in power, there might not be a Beetham or Sea Lots today. But let me say this RCOTT Family! There is a way that families of those areas who have lived there for a number of years can play a part in the progress on gentrification or in another term RELOCATION! Then there are other ways, which would result in tremendous violence, thus to let the authorities step in to take drastic measures that will not be favorable to those same residents. The feeling is in the air right now is? When you hear other parts of the country condemning the residents on what is happening in their community, the tides are starting to change. The people are fed up with the hostage taking of this one particular community. You are looking at Laventille, Sea Lots and Beetham Gardens, 3 of the most high crime areas, but highly priced real estate areas as well in T & T that the local and International corporate world wants bad! bad! bad!.
