Fascinating re: vaccines - We had dinner tonight with a colleague of Marks who is visiting for a year from France. He and his wife related the story of a colleague of theirs whose son was a little off. They couldnt get any diagnosis for him in France. They came over here (also, I believe, to do research) and their pediatrician here immediately diagnosed ASD and put the son into a whole network of professionals and resources that helped him immensely. Now back in France, theres nothing for him - even, as they said, in Paris, with medical scholar parents!! They are working to change that as best they can. The couple we ate with were thrilled that their daughter was born here because our vaccine schedule has a few that arent on the French schedule due to cost-cutting. Rotavirus was one of them.
