Federation Cup holders Enyimba bounced back to winnings way in the expanded Super 4 in Abuja on Monday as they beat Warri Wolves 1-0. Enyimba now have three points from two games, while Warri Wolves are without any points. ‘The People’s Elephant’, who lost their first game to the Flying Eagles 2-0 on Saturday, took the lead in the 15th minute through a spot kick converted by Ifeanyi George after Oke Ogahotewho handled the ball inside the box. Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi had no chance to save the penalty. The game was explosive as Enyimba goalkeeper Moses Ocheje pulled off a couple of good saves. He gathered a shot by Stanley Dimgba in the ninth minute. Both teams had chances to score after Enyimba went in front. In the 51st minute, Bartholomew Ibenegbu had his effort at goal for Wolves kept out by Ocheje, who also came off his lines shortly after to grab a dangerous ball inside the box before Stanley Dimgba could strike. Wolves could have restored parity in the 69th minute, but Ifeanyi Anaemena cleared the danger after Ocheje dropped Ezenwa Otorogus shot. In the 70th minute, Enyimba were denied a goal by Akpeyi, who stopped Ifeanyi Georges effort from inside the box. Ocheje then denied Wolves an equaliser when he saved Joseph Osadiayes fantastic free kick five minutes from time.
