Feeling very virtuous today. Have been dieting for about a week now, but havent noticed much difference due to the fact that I havent been exercising. Bit difficult with my dodgy knees :( I decided today though that I need to try. Met some friends on the beach early this morning and then we went for breakfast together. I sipped a banana and strawberry smoothie, whilst watching American chums pile into huge stacks of pancakes with maple syrup and cream and crispy bacon and sausages. Yuk! What a combination. Then I went to yoga for the first time in ages. I was a bit late for the class and Dr Panda was in mid sun salutation. When he finished the move and saw me, he beamed and waved enthusiastically as if he had seen a long- lost friend. I think he likes me because Im the only one that ever asks questions! It was a great class and I had forgotten how good I always feel when I come out of there. Then I decided to try the Fitness First gym which is on the same floor of the Oasis Centre. I hadnt been in before. Did some very very gentle (almost-static tottering really) cardio on treadmill, bike and cross-trainer for three quarters of an hour. Then discovered that this branch of FF has a DVD library and you can borrow DVDs for FREE for two days. What a great idea. So I took that Dustin Hoffman film, Outbreak. Seen it before, but its good and is obviously, sadly, quite topical. Then went to my favourite cafe, Balance, on the same floor. Started with fresh watermelon juice. Then tender chicken marinated in mint and Indian spices, with yellow Dahl and whole meal naan. Delicious. So impressed that I have just signed up for a course of their cooking classes. Yes! Dont faint JTP. And dont tell Twiglet! Now sipping my peppermint tea and wondering what to do with my afternoon. Perhaps a nap and doggy snuggle might be in order :)
