Fellowships . . . Social Innovators Fellowship: Paruware Trust Deadline: 30 June 2013 The program is targeted at investing in young Africans to develop their leadership skills and support their vision for social change. In addition, we have observed that while social entrepreneurship has begun to take off as a viable and sought after career path in many parts of the world, it has yet to develop significant traction in the region. As a Young Social Innovator Fellow you will: Commit to receive a one-week long training - Learn about international development and non-profit structures from a unique perspective - Play a leadership role in finding an innovative solution to a social challenge in your community with measurable positive outcomes for society. Commit to twelve months of professional training, development, mentoring and support for your community solution project. Please note that you can maintain your job or school while conducting the fellowship. Minimum requirements include - You must be between 18-30 years old - Self motivated, innovative and hungry to change the world - Strong communication skills, positive attitude, highly curious and desiring to work with people from various backgrounds, cultures, and income-levels - Performing with minimal supervision, exercising good judgment and decision-making as needed - The ability to travel and live anywhere in Africa To apply Send your CV and a one page essay describing a community challenge you feel strongly about and your ideas towards it to: [email protected] with the subject line clearly stating, Social Innovators fellowship program. Selected applicants will be contacted in mid- July, and will complete an in-depth interview with Paruware Trust by July 30th.
