Ferguson/Detroit policies in Africa. Top down democracy? We need a bottom up movement for justice for the masses of people. Brother Hussein Juruga Amin has presented part of the problem with African development: the top-down management of policy making that reinforces elitism and has abandoned the needs of the masses of people at the bottom. On the other hand, we also have to consider what new capitalist/colonialism is doing to the continent as a whole, stealing a trillion dollars a year in wealth from the people resulting in a deepening economic crisis for the working people. This theft is also backed up by Biig military establishments in most African nations that serve the interest of Wall Street. Both of these challenges must be resolved or the future is unthinkable.
