Field trip this weekend! Saturday 8th June 2013 19.00 Evening Chobham Common Stonechats and heathland birds, Woodcock and the main event: Nightjars! How to get there: on the A30 to Sunningdale turn onto the B383 (signposted Chobham). (NB: the turning is just after the level crossing if you are travelling from Camberley, or just before it if coming from Staines.) Go south on the B383 for about 11⁄2 miles to a roundabout. Take left exit onto B386 (signposted Chertsey) and go for 1⁄4 miles to next roundabout. Take right hand exit crossing over M3 (still on B386) and immediately turn right onto unclassified, unfenced road over Chobham Common. Continue for about 1⁄2 mile and park in the first proper car park on the left of the road (ignore earlier ones on the right). Map ref: SU974647. Bring warm, waterproof clothing, a torch (essential!), insect repellent, and food and drink if required. No facilities. There are bound to be some boggy and uneven paths and we will be returning in the dark/near dark: we have to point out there is a risk here of tripping over etc and this trip requires more physical effort than other club trips!
