Fiji FA receives boost ahead of OFC 19 qualifiers Fiji Sports Commission chairman Peter Mazey. The Fiji Sports Commission has stepped in and help the Fiji Football Association for the Oceania Under-19 Championships. Commission chair Peter Mazey says they are working closely with all sporting federations and football was the latest on the list. He adds, apart from the U19, they will also now be forking out for the payment of national coaching director Juan Carlos Buzzetti. “We are also this month assisting Fiji FA for the U19 Oceania Championships at the ANZ Stadium. Fiji Football of course Carlos (Buzzetti), we will assist Carlos as we announced. The big thing is the Fiji FA is putting all the money from FIFA into their development programs and that’s why we helping Carlos which isn’t done by FIFA anymore.” Vodafone Fiji, along with the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea and American Samoa will take part in the competition from May 23-31. Meanwhile, Fiji opens it campaign at the play-offs against American Samoa at 2.30pm on Friday week.
