Film: Haute Cuisine (2012). Hi, Everyone. Heres a trailer of the film Haute Cuisine (Les Saveurs du Palais), a 2012 French film on the true story of Daniele Malet-Delpeuch, a private chef for two (2) years to 1981-1995 President Francois Mitterrand (1916-1996). youtube/watch?v=fxxI9_BLj88 I like the film. The president and the chef love authentic French cooking. Heres the dialogue of the final scenes between them before the chef resigns to later become a truffles farmer in New Zealand. One evening, the president visits the private kitchen. Chef: Can I help you, Mr. President? President: Im fine. Mrs. Arvelet said youd received some truffles. Chef: Yes, thats perfectly correct. Do you want to see them? President: Do you mind? Chef: Not at all. President: I suppose theyre the first of the season. Chef: Yes. Look at that! President: How marvelous! Are you familiar with truffles a la croquet au sel? Chef: Theres little about truffles Im not familiar with. After preparing the truffles for the president, the chef opens a bottle of wine. Chef: Chateau Rayas 1969. President: Thank you. Perfect. Theyre making life hard for you? Me, too. Adversity.... Personally, adversity keeps me going. The spice of life. You see? Good evening, Maam. Chef: Good evening, Mr. President. Please take great care of yourself, and thank you for all you do. Love, Mel
