Courtesy photo By Staff reports Posted: 12/03/13, 4:48 PM PST | An Azusa neighborhood liquor store had some unusual and well known people walk through its glass doors on Tuesday. Benny’s Liquor, off the corner of Azusa Avenue and 2nd Street, was transformed into a movie set featuring Susan Sarandon and Melissa McCarthy, Azusa city officials announced. “It’s a movie called ‘Tammy’,” said Martin Quiroz, the city’s public information officer. The film also stars Allison Janney, Kathy Bates and Dan Aykroyd according to the IMDB website. According to Quiroz, the film company brought in extras, catering trucks, movie equipment and lights. Filming was to take place in two locations in Azusa.
