Finally someone wrote such an article. Though I agree with the main contents of the article, he seems to imply that Persian racism and bigotry against Arabs is mainly a bourgeois and secular phenomenon. Anybody who talks to Iranians often knows that the secular middle-class is very very racist. There can be no doubt about that. But I really doubt that racism itself is a bourgeois, liberal and secular phenomenon. For example, what about Sunni and Shiite hatred? He is making the poor and the weak look better than they probably are. Poverty and pain can also make people very racist and cruel. The poor workers are not any better than the rest. They just suffer more.
