Finally watched Elf. It was exactly what I thought it would be: a film that takes Will Ferrells un-funny acting like an idiot routine and tried, somewhat successfully, to make it cute and innocent. They showed the trailer for this at the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets film release. I saw that film 5 times in one day, which means I saw that trailer 5 times in one day, & I will never understand how I watched everyone around me except Andrew Nielsen, Valerie Waite Wilson, and Shauna Coy, rolling with laughter at his Whats your favourite color? bit. The film was okay. I doubt Ill ever watch it again. The best parts were, of course, the scenes with the adorable Zooey Deschanel. Learning she was in it, and that she sings Baby Its Cold Outside, were what finally pushed me into checking it out. I still maintain that the only film I actually enjoyed Will Ferrell in was Stranger Than Fiction.
