Financial tip: Be a cheerful giver, remembering the blessings you have been given and from where those blessings come. Luke 6:38 (NIV) says: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”” Acts 20:35 (NIV) says: “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Giving is the one thing in which many people tend to struggle. We tend to not give because we feel that we are struggling too much ourselves to be a blessing to anyone else. But we must understand that even when we feel like we are the ones struggling financially, there is much certainty that someone else is having an even harder time than we have. That’s why we should always strive to give freely, in the spirit that everything we have comes from God. We should feel happy to contribute even a small amount to others in need. We should always remember that any amount of money that exists can be both counted and collected one dollar at a time. God blesses those who bless others: especially when there is a sacrifice.
