First of all, I cant even begin to thank everyone for the heartfelt concern and prayers for both us at this very, very difficult time!! No blood clots in the legs or lungs and he has lost another ten pounds of his fluid build up, just overnight. His symptoms of this awful disease are slowly getting a little better; however, the overall diagnosis is not good. His heart function is about 10% right now and he has two leaky heart valves that would need open heart surgery to repair. There may also be other blockages to his heart. He is definitely not strong enough to survive the surgery and his chances of having a major heart attack are very high. The doctors are doing all they can for him, but it is reaching a point of just keeping him as comfortable as possible and continuing to do what they can. He is in Gods hands right now and it is just a matter of time. If he is ever able to leave the hospital he will go to a care facility just across the street from the hospital in Omaha. Thanks again to all of you for everything - it is so nice to know that we have so many, many caring and supportive friends! Ive been spending the nights with him at the hospital and most mornings.
