First of all, this is in Kentucky. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! What is - TopicsExpress

First of all, this is in Kentucky. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! What is going on?! Secondly, it doesnt matter what a local law says, the Constitution and Bill of Rights trumps it. Thirdly, Human Rights commissions are superfluous in government. You heard me. The 14th amendment guarantees equal protection under the law. If somebodys civil rights are truly violated, then enforce the law. Period. When you institute additional commissions like this, they tend to be moral enforcers pushing the current thought of the current moral-majority, i.e., what the majority thinks is moral (not what is actually moral, but the subjective whims of society at the moment). When your thinking happens to be in line with current majority thought, you wont feel the pain of this one. However, when its at odds, youll suddenly see the problem with it. It is a subtle yet devastating violation of the Establishment Clause. Fourthly, having somebody do something for you is not a civil right. What?! You mean, discrimination? No, I mean theres a little something called The 13th Amendment. It outlaws involuntary servitude. What else do you call forcing somebody to work for you through coercive force? The coercive force in this case would be governmental force. Having the government do something does not make it okay. Fifthly, a private business is not a public institution. It is private property. If its not, why do they have to pay taxes? In fact, more taxes usually than other property owners. Yet, they have fewer rights because they are contributing jobs and productivity to the economy? Sixth, the freedom of religion is not solely about religious institutions. When Article One of the Bill of Rights was written, most of the problems from religion that caused it to be written were because of specific churches imposing their will on people through the government. This amendment extended liberty of belief to every individual, not to collective entities. Of course, if individuals have this right, then via implication, groups of individuals do as well. Do we think that the freedom of speech and press only apply to institutions? The idea that the freedom of religion is just about churches is not consistent, and its pure illogical deconstructionism at its finest. Seventh, in general you wont see Christians oppressing liberals in this sort of way. With the Christians I know, if somebody doesnt want to print something we want or have anything to do with our religion, well move on to the next private business. Somebody out there will gladly take our money. We dont believe in bullying people, because that is not how we want to be treated. Seriously people, start loving one another! This movement that keeps saying stuff like you cant help who you love! and claims to want equality is doing nothing but oppressing and hating those that disagree. Even if you dont believe the way Christians do, if you believe in loving your fellow man and you are against people using force against each other, you will stand against the sort of thing this ill-named Human Rights Commission is trying to do.
