Flinch being removed from Halo 5 If youve ever played the Halo - TopicsExpress

Flinch being removed from Halo 5 If youve ever played the Halo series in any sort of competitive setting youre probably aware of Flinch, a mechanic where your aiming reticule moves up slightly when youre hit. First introduced as a replacement for de-scoping, a mechanic where players looking down a scope would be kicked back to their primary aim when hit, many Halo players disliked the loss of accuracy that flinch brought with it. While flinch was meant to be removed for Halo 5 in favor of a return of de-scoping, many players of the Halo 5 Beta have complained of a flinch like movement in their aiming reticule when shot. Thankfully, it seems this was not by design. @mazimasetti We’re aware of a couple of reaction anims that are causing a slight flinch-like effect. It will be fixed post-beta. — Josh Holmes (@JoshingtonState) December 29, 2014 According to Halo 5 studio head Josh Holmes this flinch effect in the beta is simply an animation bug that is going to get fixed post beta. Thank goodness, youll be back to getting shot without having to react at all before you know it.
