Following an appeals court putting Wisconsin Voter ID Law into effect, declaring it constitutional, the US Supreme Court, put the law on hold while it decides whether to take the case. The basis of the Wisconsin appeal is that the voter ID fraud that allegedly instigated the legislation was almost non-existent. Meanwhile, a Texas judge overturned the states new voter ID law--a ruling the attorney general says he will appeal straight away. The plaintiff: Justice Department had argued that the law would have left 600,000 Texans, mostly blacks and Hispanics, without sufficient identification to vote in the November election, according to the AP report.
