For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. (Psalm 51:3, 4) When we are betrayed, angry, sad, hurt, we usually retaliate in sin by gossiping, deceiving, cheating, lying...Our lack of self control & worldly understanding puts us on the defense, the I dont care mentality or we make up justifiable reasons to sin. Understand that you arent hurting the other person -all you are doing is sinning against God. When we put God 1st our interest should be peace, love, compassion, & spiritual understanding. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms(Ephesians 6:12) When we sin we freely give ourselves over to the powers of the enemy & this is sin against God not your brother/sister.
