For John Day, o.k. I told you I would find some old pics. The first photo taken about 2nd grade ( I really dont know). We got to wear dresses to school to get our pictures taken in lieu of the standard issue knife pleat navy blue skirts and white Tulane blouses. I never got my hair much longer than this, and youll notice the headband, always shifting around. I hated wearing things in my hair, it always felt like they were falling off. I was cross eyed for a long time and didnt wear my glasses for the picture, so my crooked eye shows. I still try this technique now, since I just got contacts to try to enhance my 58 year old cuteness factor because my eyes are green and pretty. Flutter, flutter. The 2nd pic is my first communion picture, the little wreath of flowers were wrapped on wire and made of paper, and of course a perfect flip for the hair that my mother made by making me wear sponge rollers, pink ones and I had to sleep on them. Murderous. The dress was organdy and made by my Great Aunt Tullie, it had little pintucks and insets of lace. Aunt Tullie was a master seamstress and she made a lot of special things including my wedding dress. The dress hung in my closet for years and years. Guy has on a groovy suit, notice he was short and cute. Always a little cheesy. The photo was taken at Mumsies house in Aunt Lones bedroom, she lined us up on a white sheetrock wall, thank god there were some curtains in the pic. She had a color polaroid camera, quite advanced for 1963. And of course, I have to write little stories about these pictures because I can put myself back in those pictures in a heartbeat!
