For all pet owners - Yesterday morning my dog Prince and I were outside enjoying the beautiful weather. I was drinking coffee and reading the paper. My dog, Prince, was barking at the mail truck. It was 12:00 p.m. The cathlic church bells were playing. I called PRINCE to come inside and he did not come. My yard is fenced in and my back patio has a row of arbervidens. I went around the corner calling Princey and he was laying down by the fence facing my street not moving. I knelt down petting him and realized he was dead. He was 11 years old. My next door neighbors came running (BOTH SIDES OF MY HOUSE) to see why I was screaming and crying. We decided he probably had a heart attack and died. My one neighbor Andy has three dogs and is tall and muscular recovering from knee surgery and is married. My other neighbors Marge and Tom have always been there for Deon and I. Marge walked Prince and Andys dogs would come over and play with Prince. We all get along. After they calmed me down, they asked for a blanket to wrap Prince in. I went inside to get dressed cause i was in lounging clothes and Marge went to call my vet. The blanket I decided to use is in the picture wrapped around me. It was My husbands prayer shawl from our church given to him by our friend and associate pastor when he was battling lung cancer made by ladies at church. When I came back outside, ANDY had Prince wrapped in the blanket, holding him lovingly, in the garage, waiting me to unlock the car so he could put Prince in the back seat to take him to the vet. Prince weighed about 55/58 pounds. Marge drove us to the vets. Dan came out to the car, we said goodbye to Prince and came home. We decided to have him creamated. I called my daughter on the way to the vets office to tell her what happened and to see if she wanted to see him one more time. She decided not to. After we got back, Marge went home cause she had company and Elizabeth called to come get her. She got some one to cover for her at work so she could hang out with me. We ended going back over to Marge and Toms house for delicious chilli and tears and laughter.I have awesome neighbors. Then I had to take Liz home cause I had bell and choir practice. But coming home last night to a quiet house was hard. No face looking out the window, no barking, and no one to greet me at the door. I still have the cat- Any ideas how to teach her to bark? I have an awesome daughter who put all those pictures together and comes running when I really need her. So thank you, Elizabeth, I am glad you chose Princey 11 years ago out of 14 puppies. He was a great family member. I am sure he found Dad right away up in heaven and is chasing golf balls like crazy. So, give your family pets and extra hug for me tonight and treat them with kindness for they love unconditionly. God Bless you all. I love you Princey. You were such a kind and gentle soul. You will be in my heart forever. Love you Lizzy, Mom
