For me, supporting taliban-like idealogy is akin to supporting taliban. I also know the biggest misconception amongst us is that people who support the taliban/taliban like thinking are poor, illiterate or just desperate. Let me burst your bubble by telling you that the biggest supporters for this kind of extremist ideology are people like you and me; educated, middle class and seemingly peace loving. If I could recount the ideas and concepts of the people I worked with in Karachi, you might think I was lying. Mind you, all of these people were engineers or MBAs, educated to degree levels or more and seemed like normal functioning members of society. Yet their horribly skewed love for the taliban was nothing short of gut wrenching. Why the support? Well, because they want to bring in Sharia, and Khialfat, and they hate the West. Little do these people realise that they are just blindly following the devil himself. You CANNOT pick and choose from their doings. Oh, they dont kill people. People kill themselves. After all, that is how a schoolgirl gets attention around here. Taliban just want Islam WRONG. They just want to eliminate us a people; brainwash us in the name of Islam that we happily burn minorities and actively argue about how they will be our saviours.
