For more years than I would like to admit I lived frustrated in ministry. My frustrations came as a result of Christians refusing the way of the Lord as the way they lived. I reasoned that if a person was born again they had no choice... Boy, was I wrong! Throughout a person’s born again life he has freedom to choose. Just like Adam had a choice, so, too, we have freedom to choose. We must continually choose to do the will of the Lord as a way of life on a daily basis. I wish I could have understood this simple truth sooner, but I did not! I am just glad I understand it now... Mama tells her young child not to touch the hot stove, but the child touches it anyway. The negative consequences of the child’s choice comes whether mama wants them to or not. Mama may be frustrated with her young child for not listening to her, but she must be careful how she relates to her hurting child. The child is suffering from his burned hand enough as it is. Mama is responsible to help her child learn a more excellent way, more than scolding him for being foolish! Freedom to choose! That is the will of the Lord. Even if our choices to live our own way produce negative consequences, each of us has freedom to choose. The child’s burned hand is punishment enough. Mama did not cause the burn as punishment. The child’s foolish choice caused the burn. I desire to provide you with an apostolic sight so you may have opportunity to “...grow...” in your knowledge of the way of the Lord, which we are all ordained to do from “...glory to glory...”!
