For musical evening, no traffic on Nishat, Foreshore roads from afternoon Police asks people to travel before 1:00 PM GK NEWS NETWORK Srinagar, Aug 4: On September 7, when famed music conductor Zubin Mehta is scheduled to perform in Srinagar’s Shalimar Bagh, no civilian vehicle will be allowed to ply on roads along Dal banks connecting the Nishat-Harwan stretch. Said an official handout: “In view of the Musical concert at Shalimar Garden on September 07,2013 in which huge number of VIPs/visiting dignitaries are participating, Superintendent of Police Traffic, City Srinagar has made elaborate arrangements for smooth ply of traffic on different routes of City.” “As per the statement of Superintendent of Police, Traffic City Srinagar, the Boulevard and Foreshore roads shall be free from traffic movement, on the said day from 13:0 ( 01 p.m) hours onwards,” the police handout said. “The traffic diversions, which shall remain in force on the said day include that all the type of vehicles except visiting dignitaries shall be diverted at Ram Munshi Bagh towards Dalgate and all sort of vehicular movement except tourist vehicles shall be diverted at Badyari towards Khanyar to reach to their destinations while as the tourist vehicles shall only be allowed up to Nehru Park,” it added. “No vehicle except visiting dignitaries will be allowed at Grand Lalit Boulevard road towards SKICC and all the passengers/ LMV’s shall be diverted at Harwan Bridge towards Mulfaq, Mufti Bagh to reach towards Zakoora crossing,” it added. “The vehicles coming from Zakoora, Pandach and Hazaratbal shall be diverted at Habak crossing towards Hazaratbal and vis-e-versa and the vehicles coming from Duck Park, Shalimar Crossing and Tailbal crossing and its adjacent areas shall not be allowed to ply towards Nishat Foreshore route and these vehicles shall be diverted towards Tailbal to reach to their destinations,” the traffic authorities said. “Similarly the residents of Shalimar, Nishat, Harwan and its adjacent area are requested to travel before 13:00 hours on the day of function and in case of emergency they may contact on the following No’s of SP Traffic, City Srinagar 9419166437 (M)2455179 (O),DYSP Traffic City North Srinagar 9419001956, DYSP Traffic City South Srinagar 9622422143,Traffic Control Room 2450022 and 2485396,” the handout added.
