For she said within herself, If I may but touch His garment, I - TopicsExpress

For she said within herself, If I may but touch His garment, I shall be whole. Matthew 9:21 This devotional was inspired by some studying that I was doing that I would have to say really stretched me! It stretched me in terms of my understanding of God and His purpose for our lives, but the good thing that I have learned about being stretched is, unlike a rubber band, once the human mind is stretched it can never go back to its former constricted state. Change has to take place. Hebrews chapter 11 verse 1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” I’m learning that faith is literally the spiritual existence of what you desire to manifest in the natural. The key that we so often miss is that there can be no faith without thought. We have people in the Church that have been trying to exercise proper faith without first developing proper thinking. You see your level of faith is only as strong as your clarity of thinking pertaining to the things of God. That’s why the Apostle Paul when writing to the Church at Philippi said, “Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus” because by taking the mind of Christ, we take on the thinking pattern, the obedience and the faith of Christ. It says, “Faith is the substance (or the spiritual existence) of things hoped for.” My daughter got me into something called “Wikipedia” which is sort of an internet dictionary/encyclopedia and Wikipedia defines ‘hope’ as, “an emotional belief in a positive outcome related to events and circumstances within one’s personal life.” Upon further examination I came to the conclusion that hope is the mental process by which our thinking is coupled with our faith or our belief for something that we desire to see manifested at a future time. If you look at verse 3 it says, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” So, watch this, if the things we see were not created by other things we see, then all material things are nothing more than someone’s “frozen thoughts”. Follow me for a moment. You see, what you desire will manifest into reality as things, because anything you desire must first exist in your mind. If you can’t see yourself with what you desire you will never have the faith needed to call that thing into being from out of the realm of the Spirit. Matthew 9:21-22 “For she said within herself (thinking), If I may but touch His garment (the plan), I shall be whole (desire, belief, faith). But Jesus turned Him about, and when He saw her, He said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.” (results of thinking and faith). Looking into this verse for the purpose of gaining a deeper understanding I’ve come to the conclusion that our faith has the ability to bring wholeness into our life. Now watch this, the wholeness comes from God, but here’s the thing, it’s delivered out of you! The verse says, “she said within herself”. I’m imagining that within her inner being, a dialog took place which united her thoughts with her desire. This caused faith to be activated and a plan was devised for her healing. She said “If I may but touch”, and as a result of her focusing her thoughts and faith she received her desire. What that tells me is that we need to align our thoughts with our faith, because when we align our thoughts with our faith, we can receive whatever we desire from God. To align our faith with God is to confess; it’s the Greek word “homologeo”, and it means “to say the same thing”. It’s the same word we find in Roman 10:9, where it says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Our problem is we have not aligned our thoughts with our faith in God. Aligning our thoughts with God means we have to be willing to conform our will to God’s will, and a lot of us are simply not ready for that. People are praying and waiting every day, but because they have not aligned their thoughts with their faith they have no results. If your faith does not have a plan, it is dead! You see, it’s not that people don’t have faith; because the Bible says in Romans 12:3 that “God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith”. Remember I said your faith is only as strong as your clarity of thinking. Watch this, if God gave you faith, I don’t think the devil can take it from you. But I believe what the enemy does to hinder your success is he messes with your thinking. He knows that if you can’t think straight you will never reach the level of faith that is needed to receive what you need from God. So he messes with your thinking and he does it by causing distractions! The plan of the enemy is to keep you off centered because he knows if he just leaves you alone, you’re going to be dangerous. He has to stay on your back because he recognizes you as a threat to his kingdom and if he just leaves you alone you’re going to do damage to his kingdom. You see, we’re the ones that have the capacity to make a difference in this dark society, and if the enemy just leaves us intact he knows that he’s in trouble!! So he disrupts our vision because he want to keep us from focusing on what’s really going on, thereby missing our blessing. You show me a person whose thoughts are FROZEN around the will of God and I’ll show you a person with a plan. Word For Today But Jesus turned Him about, and when He saw her, He said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. – Matthew 9:22 - Hers was not a passive faith, but it led to action because a passive faith is a dead faith. Prophetic Word “The thing that you have been struggling with which no one knows about but you and I. You know, the thing that you have asked to be taken away from you and it seems to remain. Hear Me, I’m in the midst of your struggle and it is not designed to bring you harm but to draw you closer to Me. Stop fighting against what I want to accomplish in and through you,” says the Lord.
