For some time now I have been wanting to write about this, but it seems I can never find the time. Tonight there is an urgency within my spirit to do so, so maybe its the right time. With all the news of the looming diseases and things that are now threatening our country, I can only wonder if people realize that we are truly living in the end times. Yes...yes...I know...I have heard it all of my life too, and so have my parents, and their parents before them, but take a moment and look around you. The Bible says, as it was in the days of Noah... I turn on the television and see filth at every turn. I turn on the news to see destruction on every hand. I hear the presidents (if you can even call him that) Freudian slip about ICIL, and I realize that there is an urgency in the air. We were talking with Donna Denton the other night, and she brought up a good point. When a woman is expecting, people know that the baby is coming, but theres no real urgency until the pains begin...then there is a need for action. Its then that she is taken seriously. Well folks, the pains have begun. In our prayer time last night, Shea Higgins and Nefthali Sanchez were talking about the idea of hope for this nation, and one of them quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. But the key is taking those steps toward healing, and, unfortunately, I see just the opposite. Sadly, even the church world has put EVERYTHING else before God. But trust these words: We are in a time when God better be our EVERYTHING and not just our SOMETHING. He will have to be our healing, b/c there wont be a cure. He will have to be our provision, b/c there wont be an economy. He will have to be our peace, b/c there will be war. He will have to be our protection, b/c there will be danger. He will have to be our shelter, b/c there will be no place to hide. If we call ourselves the body of Christ, we better wake up and start acting like it. My world was shaken a few weeks ago, and I will be honest: I was asleep. And unfortunately, it took something like that to make me come to my senses. What am I doing to win the lost? We live in a world where everybody is going to heaven. You just have to be a good person, they say. You just have to do good and be good. But I beg to differ. He said, Be ye holy as I am holy. That is a pretty tall order, but our churches have embraced gratification and pushed aside sanctification. Conviction is a bad word. No one wants to be uncomfortable, so we preach sermons of prosperity and self-preservation, while all the while, people are dying and going to hell. Yes, hell. It does exist....where the worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched. You can believe a lie all you want and you can look at this as harsh and judgmental, but I will stand before Him on that day with clean hands. I so believe in love, and grace, and prosperity for Gods people, but I also know that we have wondered so far from holiness (and no, Im not talking about outward appearance). We no longer strive to be like Him. We no longer commune with Him and talk to Him. Last night the power of God fell in this house...yes, our home. And I became overwhelmed with His presence to the point where I was lost in Him. Am I saying that to sound self-righteous? Absolutely not! I am real. And I fall short daily. But I also see a NEED to begin to search for Him while He may be found. I love Facebook for the mere fact that I can share my thoughts with you. Take them as you will, but I pray that you will learn to lean on Him and make Him your everything. Your eternity depends on it. Love you all.
