For the last 12 months Ive filled my timeline with articles and info regarding the referendum. I decided to stop last week. But for my final post on it before the last of us vote tomorrow I wanted to say why tomorrow I am voting yes. For me the democracy of the UK is dead. It seems trivial who we vote for as they are all now moving to the right. We know no matter who we vote for in the next General Election we will be getting more austerity cuts as Milliband has promised to continue with the Tories plans. This is not some master plan to get rid of the debt as they say, we know that the debt has increased immeasurably with this government, this is an ideology they are delivering that continues to make the rich richer at the expense of the many. I cannot bring myself to vote No and keep together a Union that only benefits the top 1%. We are already the 4th most unequal country in the world. I strive for a country where people are still rewarded for working hard but the wealth is distributed and prevents such a class as the working poor. The economics of Scotland have clearly been heavily argued throughout this campaign, and Im sure for every experts opinion the opposing camp can also pull out a contradictory claim. We do know we are rich in resource and people to be independent. This wont come easily, itll need some serious work in the event of a Yes and we will need the Scots on opposing camps to come together before we then elect a government. For me it doesnt matter if its the pound, Scottish pound or the Smackeroonie that goes in our pocket as long as that wealth is more evenly distributed amongst us. And dont think I dont let my head make a call on this. I work for a UK company with a UK pension, I have a mortgage and a marriage with 2 kids. Its important for me it works and Im sure it will. And theres a brief summary of my reasons, Im sure I could go on all day.... Maybe I should have read this back but I hope you get the gist...
