For those of yall that dont know, I am truly blessed and excited to announce that God has given me the opportunity to live out one of my dreams. After months of prayer and waiting, I finally have been accepted to go on a six-month long mission trip to Haiti, Belize, and Jamaica with an organization called, Experience Mission. On January 12th, I will be going to the city of Harlem, New York, to train with my team for our future mission. While there, my team and I will work alongside the Salvation Army to address and help members of this community tackle some of their city’s financially depressed issues. Helping them will teach us how to, “live our mission”, in the United States and give us the foundational skills to take that to the rest of the world. From Harlem, we will go to Haiti, a country left impoverished by the January 2010 earthquake. Much of this country is still left with destruction, many orphans and staggering unemployment rates. Our hope in aiding these people is not to try and change them, but to help facilitate their social, physical, and spiritual needs. During our time in Haiti, we will be living in local communities, helping teach English, organizing programs for the children in the orphanages, partnering with local churches and developing micro-financing strategies to sustain their communities, to list a few. Most importantly, I will be developing life-long relationships with these people and sharing with them the beautiful sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us all. In Jamaica and Belize, we will be doing much of the same as in Haiti. Each community that we visit will have uniquely different issues. Along with tackling these issues, my team and I will be creating personal relationships with the people we encounter. Each of us will be living with a host family and helping them with their everyday lives, allowing us to really get to know one another and to cultivate life long bonds with not just ourselves, but with Christ. This will also allow us to dig deep into each of our faiths and examine what God’s word really means to us. My hope and prayer for this journey is not just to help change the lives of the people I encounter, but also to be personally changed by the time I arrive back home. None of this will be possible though without your prayers. I ask for your prayers for my strength and safety through this challenging but incredibly rewarding journey. I know that this experience will increase my faith and help me grow closer to my Lord. I also ask for prayers for the financial means to be met. For this trip, considerably priceless to me, I will need to raise $8,800, covering the cost of my travel and food expenses. I have no doubt that if this is truly what God wants for my life at this time, he will indeed provide. If you are able to contribute and would like to donate to help finance this trip, it is my earnest prayer that God will bless you and your family abundantly. Thank you all so much. To Donate: You can either make a check payable to me, or you can donate on the Experience Mission website at, experiencemission.org Once on their page, click on the “Donate” tab in the upper right hand corner.
