For those of you that DONT GET it because I wont leave Richard long enough to take a shower or take the trash to the dumpster let me give you an insight of what I live with. There is a hospital bed (where Richard sleeps) sitting right next to the couch (where I sleep) which is right next to Richards recliner in our livingroom. The bed is about 2 steps for me to stand up from the bed and walk to the recliner. It takes Richard about 3 minutes to make his good foot turn back and forth to make his way to the recliner while holding on to the walker. There is a pad on his recliner because his stump is still leaking, I folded the pad up so I could sit on the recliner to get his shot ready. Gave him his shot, walked over to my recliner and curled up in a ball with the dogs. The next thing I hear is Richard going UGH, the walker falling and Richard falling unto the hospital bed. Thank God for that bed!!!!! What happen you may wonder???? I forgot to unfold the pad when I left the chair and Richard let go of the walker with one hand and lost his balance!!!! It takes something a simple and easy for you and I to make him fall. Yes, I have had to ask many favors of my friends and my daughter in law Lottie when she is out during the day to pick stuff up from the store and pharmacy, Bless her heart she has never complained, but as much as I would LOVE to take a 30 minute shower I WONT, so I may look like crap at times, my utility room maybe piled with trash bags, but I WONT take them the short distance to the dumpster, and as much as I would LOVE to go have lunch with my AWESOME friends, or go shopping, or pay my bills myself, I WONT do any of those things until I know I can leave Richard for longer than a few minutes at a time without the possibility of him getting hurt. These are the reasons why God has Blessed me with such GREAT people in my life that understand if I call asking for help it is because I REALLY need the help........Thank you ALL for being there for me.
