For those of you that dont know me Im a foster mom of 3 older kiddos and we just had our first biological baby on Tuesday. It was scary because her heart rate dropped to 47 and they had to rush me in for surgery. This was after a pregnancy of 42 weeks, no meds, and laboring at the hospital for around 20 something hrs with no epidural. Needless to say Ive always considered myself tough. Didnt feel so tough then. I had no control over the situation. Those moments get very scary but Ive lived long enough and made It through enough to know God is always in control. Bringing our baby home confirmed 2 things to me. First, After feeling what I felt for her the moment she came into this world I cant fathom how ppl can give their kids away or treat them the way they do. Secondly I believe more than ever than having foster kids benefits my bio family and does not take away. My baby benefits from kids who have so much love to give and my kids benefit my learning to care for somebody unlike the way the ppl who cared for them did. Also gaining confidence from the trust I put in them to take care of something that is so important to me. Its a win win. So I never want to be insensitive but I will never be OK with statements contradicting that. God is in control and if you are responding to a calling then you need to listen to Him and He will take care of all parties involved. Do not listen to the world or the reasoning in your own fears. Do we see some acting out for attention? Sure. Do worries come up in my mind? No doubt. Does either of those have to do with the fact that my kids are foster and not bio? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Im excited for this ride!
