For those of you who are following my high school friend Seanas progress, this was posted today in the Caring Bridge site that was set up for her. So many prayers and positive energy are at work; she is progressing and that is truly a miracle: Seanas progress has continued over the past 2 days and she just keeps us focused on the power of prayer and positive thoughts and energy. She is breathing on her own with the ventilator there only for just in case. Her respiratory nurse is encouraged by her progress (as are we!). The nurses are doing passive range of motion exercises with her and getting her up and into a cardiac chair is their next goal. The doctor is focused as well on her lungs, making sure to head off pneumonia, so they are checking to make sure there is no infection there. The incredibly positive news is that Seana responded to direct demands from the doctor and nurse yesterday! She was told to open her eyes and there they were...those gorgeous baby blues that unmistakably belong to our Seana. We have seen her open her eyes for a few days but yesterday was the first time it was as a direct response. This lead her neurosurgeon to order a CT scan which showed slight improvement in the swelling in her brain and brain stem for the first time since the accident. This is wonderful news! The doctors and nurses are truly impressed with Seanas physical condition prior to the accident. She is fit and trim and as many of you know she is a runner. They feel that undoubtably this is all making a big difference now. We continue to ask for your prayers for Seana, Jeremy, Molly and Luke and thank you for all you have given already.
