For those of you who are holding a prayer for animal advocates @Shane Smith and Janet Smith whose daughter was abducted. I just called the Chamblee Police Department..770-986-5015 and left a message for Captain Ford who is head of the Criminal Investigative Division. I also expressed my thoughts with the woman who handles Dispatch. In both of my communications, I stated that up until now, it appears that the Chamblee Police are not taking this case seriously, especially in the face that the liquor store owner attempted to offer a police report and he was passed on to the next town. The liquor store owner had seen a woman yesterday matching Brandis description with 2 men that Shane Smith thought might have Brandi. The liquor store owner saw the woman break away from the 2 men to flee, they caught her, hit her, dragged her back to their truck. The liquor store owner called the police. They would not take a report. They referred the liquor store owner to another town, is my best understanding of what had transpired. I implored in both of my communications that there appears to be a sense of complacency. That I do not intend to be rude. However, the anguish of the family deserves that there be urgency, especially since it appears Brandi may have been seen yesterday AND that she was being assaulted in her attempts to escape her abductors. My final words were that I ask that they summon forth either more conscience or attitude to pursue this case as though it were an abduction where Brandi could be in grave danger. My message to Captain Ford was on his voice mail system. My conversation was direct with the Dispatch agent. I asked her to please communicate to the appropriate people that there needs to be a change of perspective on this case. The Dispatch agent said that there is an On Call officer. I am communicating with people to contact the On Call Officer with the details that they have about the markings on the van and the highways/roads where her abductors were last seen. My call to the police is in response to this recent update from Shane Smith that is very frustrating for us and devastating for him and his wife: (Update on our missing daughter Brandi Elaine )) we are very disturbed there were sightings of her last night we have that place staked out tonight , but within the last hour a liquor store called us from one of our fliers and said that a girl fitting the description of our daughter and 2 guys fitting the description of who we think she is with were in a white U-Haul pickup were at the liquor store the girl tried to run the guys chased her down hit her drug her and put her in the truck and sped off the Chamblee police didnt even take a report and transferred him to the next town over , we are devastated and crushed and feel alone. they still will not designate our missing daughter as foul play .we are here at the liquor store trying to get them to do a report
